UL India, a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratories, an independent safety and testing organization is setting up shop in India. The certification will cover all stages/components of wind turbine manufacturing including sub-assembly. This vital certification will help to access overseas market, as carrying this UL mark will gain acceptance especially in North America. UL India has also signed a MoU with Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services GmbH (GL) in Hamburg, Germany. Globally, the company is also expanding its labs from 2 to 4 by 2010.
