Wind Power Promoters in India

Wind Power Promoters in India are key investors who had first ventured into green energy in India. Initially they came to avail accelerated depreciation benefits provided by Tamil Nadu government in late 80s. This has made many companies to set up wind power projects across the state and lead to key service providers like NEPC. It also made TN a key state in wind power generation.

Slowly with awareness on clean energy, wind power became a key portfolio of companies for CSR and to maintain a greener image. Now, wind power has become a key asset and matured as a sector which promises appreciation and better returns. Most blue-chip companies have started holding green energy assets in one way or other. Now, we see global investors are flocking to India to pick up stakes as well as we see mergers and consolidation among larger wind power project promoting companies.
