Excise duty exempted for wind turbine generator components

Central government through Central Board for Excise & Customs have exempted excise duty for components of wind turbine generators. Now, wind turbine components like towers, blades and rotors will not attract excise duty. The move is aimed to provide a boost to the wind power sector to achieve the target of 1.75 GW of renewable power by 2022.
