Gamesa India to expand its Indian operations

Gamesa India, a leading wind turbine manufacturer had set up a new greenfield plant at Red Hills near Chennai with an investment of Rs. 3000 million. It has also set up a R&D centre in the IT corridor of Chennai with around 100 engineers to carry out its expanding R&D programme. Currently, the company is selling 850 kw turbines and it plans to introduce 2 MW turbines here. The company is also setting up a manufacturing unit near Vadodara for blades and towers.

The company had commissioned the Vadodara plant with an investment of Rs. 1750 million in January 2012 where it will produce 850 KW and 2 MW wind turbines.
